Three AirBnBs, One Romantic 4th of July Weekend in Marin

If you're looking at the calendar thinking it might be a little too late to plan to the perfect 4th of July weekend, think again. Marin is just across the Golden Gate Bridge and has so much to offer, like plenty of sun and fresh air, dense forests and countless trails. And a number of available AirBnBs still waiting to be rented for the holiday weekend. Here are three of our favorites:

Not-So-Shabby Chic Cottage

At $125/night, this itty-bitty cottage is perfect for the couples who like to spend their days enjoying Marin Headlands' sun and trails, then kick their feet up and enjoy each other's company at home. Behind and detached from the main house, this cozy little cabin includes a king-size bed, private bathroom (with a bathtub perfect for soaking tired limbs), a kitchenette for making a strong dose of coffee before your next adventure and a flatscreen television. It's a short drive from Cascade Canyon Open Space Preserve, where you'll find pristine natural habitats, Corte Madera Creek and Cascade Falls.

Private Beachside Cabin

On the very tip of the Tiburon Peninsula you'll find Belvedere, a small, affluent town covered in million dollar homes overlooking the Bay. And, for $210 a night, one of those beachside homes could be yours for 4th of July. Located on a private cove, you'll enjoy panoramic views of Tiburon, Angel Island and San Francisco as the sun goes down from this small cabin's private deck. Once it gets chilly, hop back inside to relax by the fire or warm up in the hot tub.

The place has everything but a dedicated parking spot, but — if you're coming from the city — the ferry is a nicer ride anyway. And you can bring your bike along and spend the long weekend cruising the quaint downtown area and surrounding bike trails.

Simply Perfect Tamalpais Park Cottage

For a weekend exploring Muir Woods, Mount Tam, Tennessee Valley Beach and Mill Valley's lovely downtown, this is the place to stay. At $150/night, this comfortable has all the basics: a cozy bed, full kitchen, private bath and an outdoor patio where you can enjoy your morning coffee. Fans of the Grateful Dead and bluegrass will also want to check out Mill Valley's famous music hall Sweetwater that weekend.
